Joystick support
Joystick turns your iPhone, iPad or Android phone into a game controller for games on a bigger screen. Here is how to pair it and what to try when it does not connect.

What Joystick is
A touch controller with sticks, buttons and tilt steering. The game on the screen tells the app which layout to show. Joystick is published by Epona Solutions Ltd and sold through the App Store and Google Play. It has no adverts and needs no account.
How to pair
- Open a Joystick-compatible game on the screen you want to play on. It shows a QR code and a short pairing code.
- Open the Joystick app on your phone. Allow camera access when asked, then point it at the QR code.
- No camera, or you would rather not allow it? Choose manual entry and type the short code instead. Both routes do the same thing.
- Choose your three letters when asked. They are your name on scoreboards.
- Wait for the layout to appear, then play. Leave disconnects you cleanly.
If it will not connect
- Check you are online. Pairing goes through a controller relay over the internet. A phone on a captive Wi-Fi sign-in page, or with no signal, cannot reach it.
- Try the code instead of the QR scan, and check you typed it exactly as shown. Codes belong to one game session and stop working once it ends.
- Start a fresh session. Leave in the app, reload the game on the screen to get a new code, and pair again.
- Check permissions. If the QR scan shows a black screen, allow Camera in the phone's Settings under Joystick. Tilt steering uses the motion sensors; some phones keep these off in battery-saver mode.
- Corporate or school networks sometimes block WebSocket connections. Try mobile data or another network.
- Update the app and your phone. The app needs iOS 16 or later, or a current Android release.
- Clear stuck state. From the lobby, choose Reset saved name and scores. This clears your letters, totals and saved connections on this phone only.
Refunds and purchases
Apple and Google take the payment and handle receipts and refunds, so we cannot refund or look up a purchase ourselves. On iPhone and iPad, use reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, open Google Play, then Account, then Order history, and choose the order. Moving to a new phone? Sign in with the same Apple or Google account and download the app again from your purchases.
